Are you right-handed or left-handed?

What if, to progress in tango, you didn’t need to put in more effort… but simply learn to move in a way that respects your own natural patterns?
Each of us has unique physical and motor preferences. The ActionTypes® Approach, developed from sports science and physiotherapy, helps reveal and use these preferences as levers for growth.
The result: more ease, more confidence, and more pleasure in your dance.

What are motor preferences?

Listen to your body not anybody! Bertrand Théraulaz – Co-creator of the Action Types® Approach

THE PRINCIPLE OF ADAPTATION

Our action or motor profile is the expression of a preference rooted in our bodily intelligence.
Its role is to ensure that the mind – body relationship allows the body to move freely, maintaining overall balance and coherence.

The body possesses a natural intelligence, linked both to its anatomical organization and to its capacity for movement.
Lateralities — such as being right- or left-handed — are part of this bodily intelligence.

When the body senses an inconsistency between intentions and actions, it automatically seeks to adjust, adopting a new posture to restore global coherence.

Difficulties arise when we do not allow the body to move freely in response to its needs.
Stress, fatigue, and lack of self-confidence can all hinder this freedom of movement.

When we overthink, we risk disconnecting the mind from the body, ignoring its needs.
This creates a lack of coherence between body and mind, which can make it harder to find effective solutions.

If we trust it, the body has other resources it can draw upon to maintain balance.
By reconnecting to these resources, it can naturally adapt to external constraints.

These adjustments happen unconsciously.
When we become aware of them, we sometimes interfere — often in moments of intense stress, when the mind – body connection is most fragile.
For instance, when emotions overwhelm us, we may lose our presence in the moment.

Without realizing it, we block the very adaptations the body needs, and we feel momentarily destabilized.
Yet, this is actually an opportunity for growth — not something negative.
It is a protective mechanism for both our mental and physical health.

Recognizing the importance of the interaction between body and mind allows the body to adjust freely, fostering a dynamic that promotes overall well-being.

My Application in Tango Teaching

In my pedagogy, I have integrated the ActionTypes® Approach to support each dancer in a personalized way.

In group classes

I use differential learning, which values the diversity of individual profiles.
Instead of imposing a single model, I propose varied explorations that allow each dancer to find comfort and evolve at their own pace.

In private lessons

I go further through personalized profiling.
Using precise observations — not “little exercises,” but true insights into your motor preferences — I identify your natural strengths and help you fully express them in your dance.

My philosophy

✨ Respect your differences
✨ Help you build on your strengths
✨ Foster learning that is smoother, more natural, and more joyful

In short: Move to your Tango — find and develop your own.

By the way, during your first private class with me, I offer to take 1h30 instead of 1h, at no additional cost (offer valid until the end of 2025).

This extra time allows me to create a personalized profile: a valuable step to better understand your unique way of moving and your bodily preferences.

Thanks to this, I will be able to adjust my proposals from the very beginning, so that each session is smoother, more effective… and more enjoyable!
